Disabled access
It is much more commonplace now to find disabled access in business and public premises. However, when it comes to making private properties more disability friendly the prospect of the potential work involved may seem to be daunting, hence very few buildings are adapted according to need.
Some changes will need minimal disruption or investment, while others may require a bit more planning and expense. We can install ramps, hand rails and more around your property and ensure that we meet regulations with wheelchair friendly mobility access.
Door entry systems can also be fitted to suit your needs or flashing doorbells for the hearing impaired.
We can install pre-manufactured metal ramp and platform systems which are quicker and easier to install, or construct bespoke concrete ramping with platforms and hand railing as applicable for those that either need or require a more bespoke and permanent design.
Concrete ramps and platforms can be constructed with a plain non-slip tamped concrete finish or paved to match in with the existing finish of your front or rear garden and driveway etc.
Low level access UPVC, composite or wooden exterior doors can be installed in conjunction with the ramps and platforms, and entrance doors can be increased in width to make access much easier for those using wheelchairs or scooters.
Remodelling and Renovations
These changes will make your property more disability friendly and accessible but sometimes some remodelling and renovations are required. Improvements can include remodelling kitchen and bathroom spaces to make them more disabled friendly.
In most cases trying to manoeuvre a wheelchair or mobility scooter through a standard door may be difficult. Extended or double doors are a simple solution that will make entrance into and around the property easier and without obstruction.
Other renovations such as as widening hallways which may be too narrow for wheelchair access. The work involved may cause some disruption while it is being carried out but will be of huge importance in supporting a disabled persons independence and freedom of movement.
